Daily Domestic Blues

I am elated at the onset of this blog. Since a long time I had been wondering whether I should start blogging afresh or not. And lo! Finally, thoughts became a resolution and resolution an action!

Chinmay and I have been married for just more than an year now. This life of transformed bachelorhood experienced certain hiccups in the beginning. Tiny domestic puzzles used to present a larger than life picture. However, we are past those calamities, not that they don't exist, they do, just that we tend to take them in our stride now.

Sometimes I wonder how dumb some people are. Absolutely no sense of symmetry. The Bai or the domestic help has a curious way of piling utensils atop each other, the smaller one below the bigger ones. (I pile them up in the sink in the right opposite manner though) I don't know where that sense of defying gravity originates. It's mesmerizing.

Another important topic is 'paying bills'. Bills are numerous, to keep a count of those is not important, what's important is to know whether they are paid or not. In my bachelor days, while taking time out (mostly from shopping) to pay a bill I used to think how easy it would be to do the errand when I'd be with my family after marriage. And now today I or rather we have to plan to make the purse lighter in the most effective and feasible way. Then I feel how easy it was to stand in a queue in those days gone by.

And not to mention, the biggest ever discovery made was, that Food needs to be cooked everytime before you eat it, and that YOU have to cook it and apply the same formula daily, the whole of your lifetime! :o)
